Writing it

Contracts are written in a rich text editor, so you can paste in the agreement your solicitor drafted and keep its formatting. Merge fields pull in the client's name, the shoot date, the fee and the like, so one template serves every booking instead of you editing dates by hand and occasionally missing one.

Careful

We give you the tooling, not the wording. What your contract should say — cancellation terms, copyright, model release, what happens if you're ill — is a question for a lawyer in your state, not a template from a software company.

Sending and signing

  1. Attach the contract to the client and job so the merge fields resolve.
  2. Send it. The client gets an email with a link to their signing page.
  3. They read it, type their name and sign, and it's recorded with a timestamp.
  4. You both get a copy, and the signed version is stored against the job.
Tip

Send the contract and the deposit invoice together. Signing and paying in one sitting is what actually locks a date in — a signed contract with no deposit still evaporates.

Templates

Save your standard agreements as templates — a wedding contract, a portrait contract, a commercial one. Building a new contract then means picking a template and checking the details, which is a minute rather than an afternoon.
