Connect your Stripe account

Take print orders and invoice payments, paid into your own bank account.

Payments go directly to your Stripe account, not through a LumiHQ account. We create the payment on your behalf and Stripe pays you out on your own schedule — we never hold your money.

What you'll need

  • Your ABN or personal details, depending on whether you trade as a company or a sole trader
  • A bank account in the business's name
  • Photo ID — Stripe verifies identity for every account, and there's no way around it

Connecting

  1. Go to Settings → Payments and choose Connect Stripe.
  2. You're handed to Stripe's own onboarding — this is Stripe's form, not ours, and it looks different from the rest of the app. That's expected.
  3. Fill in your business type, details, ID and bank account.
  4. Stripe returns you to LumiHQ. The Payments tab now shows your account as connected.
Note

You can leave partway through and come back — Stripe saves your progress. Until onboarding is finished, Stripe will show your account as restricted and you won't be able to take payments, even though the connection exists.

If the badge still says restricted

That's Stripe waiting on something from you, not a fault in LumiHQ. Open the Stripe dashboard from Settings → Payments and look for the outstanding requirement — it's usually ID verification or a bank account that failed its check. More on this.

Other ways to get paid

Stripe isn't the only option for invoices. You can also list direct deposit details, PayPal, or a custom payment link, and those appear on the invoice pay page. But the print store needs Stripe — a client checking out from a gallery pays by card, so without a connected Stripe account the store can't take orders.
